Macomb County, which is named after General Alexander Macomb, a hero in the war of 1812, is Michigan's third largest county. Between 1873 and 1942,   Mineral waters made the Mount Clemens bath house a big business.   Selfridge Field started training pilots in 1917.  This area became a major part of World War II production when the Chrysler Tank Plant was built in Warren. The area is now diversified into automobile, missile, metal and chemical production.
