Does your ISP or host server have you hook, line and sinker?

• Run the other way when someone tells you how "free and easy" their software is to install. Take AOL, as an example. AOL is one of the most expensive ISP's, class action lawsuits claim that AOL does not allow users to take full advantage of the Internet and instead directs them to AOL sponsors. AOL software cannot be easily removed...the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

• Email messages can be blocked, without a customer's knowledge, by ISPs who don't want their customers to learn about lower prices, faster service at a competing ISP. 

• Got a web site, one that's got you "hooked" to your host server?  If your personal or business web site contains any name other than your own, yes!  Example: www.johnsmith.realtor.com
