Charles E. McCants honored as the Citizen of the Year

The 2012 San Dimas citizen of the year at the community awards & installation dinner banquet:

“Charles is a San Dimas gem, our local treasure. Being a life-long resident of San Dimas his never ending great attitude and enthusiasm are evident in the multitude of organizations and events he supports. It is this support that allows San Dimas to be a city it is. Charles supports our farmers market, the Festival of Arts show, the sheriffs DCS Relay For Life as well as all chamber events his major contribution is his volunteer-ism with a smile and energy. whether an event in the city is held by chamber of commerce, sheriff’s booster club, relay for life, the San Dimas rodeo, the San Dimas Festival of Arts or the city itself, Charles is always taking part. His role in every event is not ceremonial; it is one that fills an important role ensuring the event goes smoothly and displays the community in a favorable light.

Charles embodies what San Dimas is a community where people care about each other, greeting others with a smile and a hearty welcome. He is an individual who is always willing to lend a hand, a person who cares about his community and strives to make it a better place.”
